Services

We supply, install, service and repair most types of Air Conditioning & Ventilation systems.

Have a look below to see some of the differences between the units!

Air Conditioning

Wall Mounted Units

These are the most popular units used in residential and commercial areas. As the name suggests, these types of units are installed at a high level on the wall. Although these are usually the most affordable option, the units are incredibly quiet, making them a good option in any room. They are also easier to fit, without the need for redecoration. All wall mounted units we install are heat pumps, meaning that they are able to heat and also cool. A single unit should be enough to cool or warm up a normal size room and, if style is important to you, there are many stylish options to choose from!

Ceiling Mounted Cassette Units

Cassette units are a very popular option for commercial installations. These types of units are installed within a suspended ceiling, with the only visible part being a squared grille, making them aesthetically appealing. They supply air in four directions, making them a perfect choice for bigger areas. All ceiling mounted cassette units we install are able to heat and cool. They also come with the option of controlling the angle at which the air blows, giving you full control!

Concealed Units

We know that these days style is everything; hence, Keep Cooling adapts to every client’s preference! Concealed units are the perfect option if you prefer the unit to be out of sight. The only visible part will be a narrow grille, which can be made to fit almost any size, shape or colour. They can also be installed both vertically and horizontally, depending on the layout of the room. However, for a concealed unit to be installed, enough space needs to be available for fitting and accessibility in the future; hence, most customers fit them behind wardrobes. As with all the other units, these can heat and cool. Check our pictures on the right hand side!

Floor Standing Units

Floor standing units are similar to the wall mounted units, with the exception of being installed at a lower level, resembling a radiator. All types of air conditioning are a more efficient and eco-friendly option than standard heating. If you prefer a ‘radiator style’ option, then the floor standing units are the option to go for!

Wine Cellar Refrigeration Systems

Depending on the manufacturer and the type of unit, the lowest set point temperature of standard air conditioning units ranges between 16 – 19 degrees Celsius. For most customers, this is cool enough; however, some customers prefer to have a lower temperature for their wine cellar. In that case, we also install wine cellar refrigeration units which can cool down a well insulated compartment to temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius, making it a perfect ambient for wine preservation. These can also be ordered as concealed units for a more aesthetically pleasing look!

Ventilation

Mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery (MVHR)

An MVHR system works by replacing the old, stale air within the house with fresh air taken from the outside. It also has the additional benefit of extracting the warm and humid air from the bathrooms (for example, after a shower), harvesting the heat from that air and placing it into other rooms whilst taking out the unwanted humidity. This ventilation system provides a constant supply of fresh air, working seamlessly 24 hours a day. Therefore, this is an efficient option, as it helps saving money on heating while also creating a much better atmosphere within the house through the supply of fresh filtered air.

Air Handling Units (AHU)

An Air Handling Unit works by supplying fresh air from the outside while also cooling or heating the air, similarly to an air conditioning unit. This guarantees fresh air at all times and an exact temperature, fully controlled by you. However, an AHU requires an outdoor unit and it is greater in size compared to an air conditioning unit.

Extractor Fans

Commonly installed in bathrooms, extractor fans are an excellent way to help remove humidity, odours and unwanted stale air. They can be programmed to start working as soon as the lights are turned on, and keep on working for a set amount of time after the lights are turned off, ensuring that all the unwanted air is removed. If, however, a MVHR system is used, there is no requirement for an extractor fan as the ventilation system takes over the role.

Supply Fans

Supply fans are a good option for ventilation in compartments where there are no windows, such as basements. They work by taking fresh air from the outside and placing it inside the room. They are normally controlled by an on/off switch, making it a simple option.

Servicing

The regular servicing of air conditioning and ventilation units ensures fresh air within the rooms where the units are being used and extends the life of the systems. During such a service, we carry out procedures such as: cleaning the filters, removing the bacteria that builds up within the units, cleaning and servicing the pumps, carrying out a leak test, charging the gas, as well as checking whether the system works correctly. We recommend servicing your system at least annually to ensure that you follow the 2014 Fluorinated Greenhouse Gas (F gas) Regulation, (if your air conditioning system consists of more than 3kg of refrigerant gas), as well as keeping the manufacturer’s warranty. The picture on the left hand side shows the difference between dirty filters used for a year in a ventilation system compared to new ones!
